Bridge abutment repair works for Abes Bridge in Molesworth are occurring in January and February.

Repair works involve installation of new concrete sleeper and steel upright retaining walls to support the road on both approaches to the bridge.

The bridge will be closed for 2-3 weeks for the installation of concrete piers.

Alternative access is via the Killingworth Road end of Abes Lane. Maintenance will improve Abes Lane, but a four-wheel-drive vehicle is still recommended for some sections.
