Supported Playgroups
Supported Playgroups are free weekly group sessions with a trained facilitator. The sessions are responsive to the needs and interests of all families. Opportunities are provided for parents/carers to:
- Meet other parents and benefit from mutual support and friendship networks.
- Develop and build parenting skills.
- Experience smalltalk – an evidence-based program that enhances interactions between parent and child in the Playgroup and home settings.
- Learn about local services and community connections.
- And of course ... HAVE FUN!
When attending Playgroup children will:
- Be exposed to a wide range of activities that will stimulate learning and imagination.
- Have time to explore the natural environment.
- Build social skills through interactions with and around others.
- Develop skills and confidence in a positive and relaxed environment.
- And of course ... HAVE FUN!
The Playgroups, funded by the Victorian Department Health and Human Services (DHHS), are currently taking place in Kinglake and are available all year round during the school term.
