Yea Arts Inc. is thrilled to announce a series of free workshops called "The Business of Art," designed to help you navigate the art world with confidence and creativity.

Thanks to the amazing support from the Murrindindi Shire Council, along with the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments, we’re able to offer these workshops at no cost to you. We’re all about supporting our local artists, and we can’t wait to see your profile soar!

Over the next eight months, we’ll be hosting 16 workshops in lovely spots like Marysville, Alexandra, Yea, and Kinglake. So, whether you’re a seasoned artist or just starting out, there’s something for everyone! Here’s a sneak peek at what we’ll be covering:

  1. Framing Your Art: Photo & Video Essentials– Join us for a hands-on session where you’ll learn how to capture stunning images and videos of your artwork. Whether you’re using a smartphone or an SLR camera, we’ll help you create eye-catching content that’s perfect for social media and marketing.
  2. Social Media & Brand Building for Creatives – Let’s dive into the world of social media! In this workshop, you’ll discover how to grow your audience, build your unique artistic brand, and create engaging content that resonates with your followers.
  3. Crafting Your Creative Future: Mini Business Planning for Artists – Ready to set some goals? This workshop will guide you in defining clear objectives and creating a simple one-page plan to keep your art business focused and flourishing over the next year.
  4. The Art of Selling: Monetising Your Creativity Online – Explore strategies for selling your art and turning your passion into a sustainable business. We’ll share tips and tricks to help you navigate the online marketplace with ease.

Leading these workshops is the wonderful Sam Hicks, a business development, marketing, and photography consultant with a wealth of experience. With over 25 years in small business and community art, Sam is passionate about helping creatives like you thrive. She’s worked on exciting projects, including the first public art initiative in our very own Murrindindi Shire!
