Are you feeling the heat from this summer's longer-than-average dry season? Join us for a morning of support, advice and great food! We understand that the recent dry weather has been especially tough for farmers in Victoria. The Bureau of Meteorology has reported severe rainfall deficiencies across the state, with some areas seeing rainfall totals in the lowest 5% since 1900. This ongoing dryness, along with decreasing soil moisture, reduced runoff, and lower water storage levels, has made it even harder to manage land and livestock. In partnership with Alexandra Events, Murrindindi Shire Council is hosting a free breakfast and seminar for local farmers affected by these conditions.
Here, you’ll have access to valuable information and resources designed to help you navigate the current dry weather. Enjoy a free breakfast of bacon and egg sandwiches, served with a warm cup of tea or coffee. As you eat, hear from a range of specialist guest speakers offering insights on managing livestock, maintaining animal health and improving farm sustainability during dry conditions. This event also provides a great opportunity to connect with fellow farmers in the Shire, share experiences, and learn practical tips for coping with extreme weather. We look forward to seeing you there.
