Calling all Yea residents! Do you want to help your community plan for and recover from emergencies?

No matter your experience, your local knowledge can help! Come along to a free community lunch to learn more and have your say.

During the lunch, Council’s Leaping Into Resilience Project Officer, Danna, will be talking with you about:

  • preparing and recovering for emergencies
  • local risks and hazards
  • skills training
  • identifying community priorities
  • what to do in the first 72 hours of an emergency

This initiative is part of the LEAPing into Resilience Project, which aims to build on the resilience of local communities in emergency preparedness and response, through the development of a Local Emergency Action Plan (LEAP).

A LEAP aims to understand the local risk content and the potential impacts on community, identify community skills and resources to help prepare and recover from emergency events and explore community opportunities for further information or skill building.

This project is supported with funding from the Australian Government, and is a joint project between Murrindindi, Strathbogie and Mansfield Shire Councils.
