Pride and Prejudice at the Kinglake Pub!

Pride and Prejudice Movie Day on 16th Dec 2023 will excite book lovers from all across the Shire.

A unique event attracting community members with free High Tea in the stunning Lawson's room of the historic Kinglake Pub.

The much loved 1995 BBC mini-series starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle will start on the big screen at 10am, concluding at 5pm and the day will be punctuated with a best dressed competition, regency word games, period dancing and Jane Austen trivia.

The day is a celebration of all things literary and Jane Austen, will encourage reading and valuing historical characters and how they shaped the world we live in now.

The day will highlight the contributions of our partners; Kinglake CWA and Kinglake Boomerang Bags who have a variety of activities all year round, (fundraising for school scholarships and protecting the environment by making sustainable plastic bag alternatives, respectively).
