Councillor for King Parrot Ward. King Parrot Ward includes Flowerdale, Glenburn, parts of Kinglake Central, Kinglake West and Pheasant Creek.
Portfolio - Infrastructure and Road Care
My wife and I have lived at our farm in Glenburn for over 25 years and love it.
I am a fully qualified Electronics Engineer and have advanced Diplomas of Agriculture and Agribusiness and have a Cert IV in Training and Assessment (teaching).
I have been lucky to be elected a couple of times, and love to serve my community.
I have done many years of youth mentoring and development. During the Vietnam War I joined the RAAF and rose to be a Research Scientist at our equivalent of NASA, testing military aircraft and other fun kit.
I worked at CSIRO and was on the team that developed our plastic money (notes) and also on the development of safe Insecticides (Pyrethrin). Then at Hewlett Packard (HP) and later at IBM, travelling the world a lot.
On retiring I helped at Murrindindi Shire Council after 2009 and became the leader of Infrastructure at our shire, building roads, bridges and drainage etc.
On retiring again, I got bored and put up my hand to be a councillor and the rest is history.
