In collaboration with the Yea & District Memorial Hospital and the Yea Saleyards Committee of Management, Murrindindi Shire Council is proud to support the Yea Saleyards Health Check program that brings healthcare directly to our local farming community every month.

For farmers, finding time to visit the GP isn’t always easy, but this initiative is making a real difference. By running regular clinics at the saleyards, healthcare professionals are providing accessible healthcare in a way that fits into farmers’ busy schedules. From general check-ups to health advice, the program ensures they get the support they need, right where they are.

It’s already proving to be a valuable service and is becoming increasingly popular across the community. We’re very happy to see this program gaining wider recognition for its impact and success. The program has recently been featured on the ABC News 7.30 program and ABC Radio. You can access both below

ABC Radio's Victorian Statewide Drive segment hosted by Prue Bentley.

Council extends it’s congratulations to everyone involved in making this initiative a reality, from the dedicated nurses to the organisers and participants who have embraced it wholeheartedly. Your hard work and commitment are appreciated.

We encourage everyone to take advantage of this fantastic service and spread the word. To find out what services are coming up, visit the Yea Saleyards website. Your health is important, and this program is here to help.

Council acknowledges the joint funding support for this program from the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments under the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement.
