An Extreme Fire Danger rating and Total Fire Ban has been declared for Thursday 13 February for Murrindindi Shire.

For the safety of our staff and community, we are limiting some of our services on this day, including:

  • Waste services - our Resource Recovery Centre in Eildon will be closed, with our other locations usually closed on Thursdays.
  • Maternal and Child Health services - our Kinglake Maternal Child Health Centre will be closed, and we have contacted all impacted clients.
  • Swimming Pools - all pools will be open at this stage however we will be monitoring conditions throughout the day.
  • Mobile Library and Customer Service - Our Mobile Library will not be operating, so that means we won't be visiting Toolangi or Flowerdale.

We encourage our community to be aware of the risks. In addition to the Extreme Fire Danger Rating, strong winds may cause branches or trees to fall, so avoid any unnecessary travel.

Remember for emergency assistance call Triple Zero (000). To report hazards on Council roads, call (03) 5772 0333.

Stay cool and hydrated, and check in on family, friends and neighbours.
