Council invites community to experience upgraded website
Published on 18 December 2024
Murrindindi Shire Council is excited to unveil its newly upgraded website, offering a more user-friendly and efficient experience.
Community feedback highlighted the need to modernise and enhance the utility of our website. The upgrades feature a completely redesigned navigation and layout, making it easier for users to find the information they need. A comprehensive content review and overhaul will soon be complete, enabling our community to consume relevant and engaging content.
In addition, the website boasts a fresh new look and feel, reflecting our vibrant community and stunning landscape.
One of the standout features of the new website is the ability for residents to type in their address and find information about their kerbside bin collection, Councillor details, as well local events, parks, services, and projects in their area. Our ‘What’s around me?’ feature is available on our home page and allows residents to stay informed and understand the Council services available to them.
Other upgrades include improved search functionality, allowing users to find the information they need quickly, and improved integration between Council’s engagement platform, The Loop, providing more opportunities for residents to have their say on projects and initiatives.
Upcoming improvements include a Live Chat feature for real-time support, complementing Council’s digital transformation (Rural Councils Transformation Program) with Mansfield, Strathbogie, and Benalla councils.
We invite everyone to explore the new website at murrindindi.vic.gov.au and share feedback to help us continue to improve our online services. Have a suggestion? Email us at communications@murrindindi.vic.gov.au
Murrindindi Shire Council’s Citizens Services and Communication Portfolio Councillor Anita Carr said “Council is committed to improving its website and digital channels, making it easier for residents to access information and services at the click of a button. Our upgraded website offers a more efficient way for residents to connect with Council online.”
“A big thank you to community members who volunteered their time to provide feedback on our website and helped test out our new navigation. We will continue to improve the website and keep it a priority. There are more exciting upgrades planned for next year and we can't wait to share them with you.”
“We know that not everyone is online, especially our older residents, and want to assure you that we are here to support you. We’ll keep sending out regular newsletters by mail, working with local publications and partnering with UGFM community radio. Our Customer Service team is just a phone call away and our libraries in Alexandra, Yea and Kinglake, as well as the Mobile Library, offer programs to help those who aren’t tech savvy access information and connect with services online. Feel free to drop in to one of our branches or give us a call, the team are always happy to assist”, Cr Carr added.
