Australia Day Events in Murrindindi Shire

On Sunday 26 January (Australia Day), a number of community-led events will be held across Murrindindi Shire.

For more information about each of the following community events, please get in touch with the event organisers.

Yea
  • Rotary Club of Yea is holding an Australia Day Breakfast on the grassed median strip opposite the Yea Shire Hall on High Street from 8.00 to 10.00 am.
Marysville
  • Lions Club of Marysville and District has organised a flag parade down Murchison Street, followed by a community picnic and live music in Burrengeen Park from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm.
Alexandra
  • Alexandra Events is holding an Australia Day event at Rotary Park from 7.00 to 10.00 am.
Eildon
  • Lions Club of Eildon is hosting an Australia Day event in Eildon Village, Main Street, Eildon, from 9.30 am to 12.00 noon.
Flowerdale
  • Flowerdale Landcare Group is holding an Aboriginal and Taungurung Flag Raising Ceremony at the Flowerdale Community Hall on Saturday 25 January at 6.30 pm.
  • Flowerdale Landcare Group is also holding an Australian Flag Raising Ceremony at the Flowerdale Community Hall on 26 January at 8.00 am.

This year, we're excited to again present the recipients of Council's 2025 Community Awards (previously called our Citizen of the Year Awards) during National Volunteer Week in May, providing the perfect opportunity for everyone to celebrate and recognise the wonderful work our volunteers do.
