As an Executive Assistant you will get an insiders view into the workings of local government and our relationships with community, politicians and government agencies. 

The Executive Assistant position will support to the Directors, CEO, Councillors and plays a pivotal role working across the organisation and providing assistance to community stakeholders to manage information, support important meetings and drive administrative efficiency and effectiveness. You will also have the opportunity to manage small projects and lead new initiatives. 

About this opportunity

In this role you will work in a fast-paced environment with a team of people and be supported to stretch your organisational, stakeholder management, decision making and leadership skills. You will also have the opportunity to play a leadership role across the organisation to streamline and document administrative processes.

As an Executive Assistant, you will provide courteous, friendly and efficient customer service and:

  • model best practice customer service, putting the customer’s needs first
  • work to find solutions efficiently and effectively and develop an understanding of common issues
  • develop a good knowledge of Council services and systems to provide accurate and timely solutions
  • develop a network of people to gather information quickly, solve problems and meet customer needs
  • communicate with customers and employees clearly, positively and in a timely manner
  • manage diaries, process expense claims and support good governance
  • organise important meetings including scheduling and set up.

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • A solid background in administrative work and/or project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to research issues & identify solutions.
  • Able to work independently and prioritise a complex workload.
  • Systems and process improvement skills.
